FUN FACT: WHAT IS HOWLITE?
Howlite is a naturally occuring mineral stone that is commonly found in the US and Canada. It was first discovered near Nova Scotia in 1868 as silico-boro-calcite, and was later named Howlite. In its natural state, it is often referred to as "white turquoise" or "white buffalo turquoise/stone". Because this mineral stone is porous in nature and presents veining, it is commonly dyed blue to replicate the look of turquoise; however, howlite and turquoise are unrelated in their properties.
